Anyone Have a Hanger?

As soon as she woke up this morning, Alegria wanted her PJs off, but her hat on:

Alegria...do NOT take your diaper off, please!

I had set out Alegria's outfit on the couch for Daddy to dress her, but Alegria beat Daddy to it and decided to dress herself...but she forgot to take the hanger out!

We tried putting Alegria down for a nap a little before 11 so that she'd fall asleep by 11 and sleep until 12:30...but she never fell asleep!

So...on the way home from Church, she was so tired she fell asleep right away:

We put her in her crib as soon as we got home and the poor little girl had a much-needed nap. :)

When Alegria woke up, she was in a good mood. She was rested and ready to play! I don't know where she found this bubble wrap, but she did, and she had a wonderful time stepping on it. It was even more of a treat when some of the bubbles would actually pop!

Alegria sure fills our lives with bubbly fun!!! :)

Bonne nuit! :)

Not So Happy Feet

For such a long time...from about the time I was in 7th grade and my feet stopped growing, I wore a size 6.5 shoe. I LOVED having dainty feet and dainty, lovely, sexy shoes to wear! That all changed when I was pregnant with Alegria. :( Sadly, my feet swelled towards the end of my pregnancy and I had to resort to wearing size 7.5 flip flops and sandals.

I thought, no, HOPED that my feet would shrink again after having her, but whether it's the fact that I haven't lost all of the weight from that pregnancy or because my feet actually grew a whole size, or because we went to Payless in the afternoon and feet get larger as the day goes by because of gravity and what-not...I was so depressed when I was trying shoes on and even the size 7.5 were too tight for comfort!!! I had to try on size 8 shoes...and I couldn't find any that were cute enough for my taste! :(

What a sad day. :( Now, I'm not saying that size 8 feet are bad...what I'm saying is that if you've been size 6.5 for most of your life and THEN your feet turn to size 8 feet...THAT'S depressing. :(

Anyway. The only cute shoes I found in size 8 were $25 and, with much hope in my heart, I didn't want to pay $25 for a pair of shoes that I'm SURE I wouldn't keep for long...because my feet WILL shrink back.........am I a hopeless dreamer for thinking that? :(

At least Alegria had fun at Payless. She tried on all of the jewelry they had!

After Payless we went to Wal-Mart.

On the way home, Alegria was hungry and upset about being in her car seat, so we gave her a sugar cookie to keep her quiet and hold her over til we got home for dinner:

What a mess!

Finally home and done with dinner, Cameron began working on putting together some shelves for Alegria's room. Cameron had been talking about getting her a real toy box to replace the empty diaper box we'd been using to put her toys in, but I'd been wanting a cubby-hole type shelf unit and earlier in the week when we'd been over at Little Josh's house, we saw that Andrea had gotten him a similar shelf that I'd been wanting, and I LOVED it, so I told Cameron about it and he agreed to get that instead!

Here is Alegria putting her toys in the little cube baskets that will go in her shelves:

Alegria wanting to take off her doll's clothes:

And wanting to help Daddy, of course!

Alegria: "Ooo! Something new to climb on!"

The finished product:

Isn't it so cute?! :)

Then it was bath time. When Daddy was getting Alegria out of the tub, though, she got upset because she wanted to stay in longer, so to cheer her up, Daddy put on one of Alegria's towels. That got a smile out of her AND me! Daddy's so silly sometimes!!! And we LOVE him, LOVE him, LOVE him!!!

Crazy hair:

Well, that was our day.

Good night! :)

Late Night

This morning was pretty quiet and relaxed.

Then once I put Alegria in bed, Kerri texted me to ask if I was bringing her with me tonight. I told her that we weren't planning on going. She said it was a potluck and that she was driving separate from Justin, so if I wanted to, I could come with her.

So...

As soon as Alegria woke up, we went to the Dollar General to pick up a disposable casserole dish. Since Alegria was being such a good girl, I took her to the toy section to look at the toys. I guess I need to learn that a visit to the toy section will never be just a visit anymore...

When Alegria saw the toys, she immediately went for...the dolls. She picked up two dolls and a bouncy ball and was trying to get more dolls, but her arms didn't have room for more. Since she already has a doll at home, Plan A was to try to convince her to put the dolls down and go for a pony with brushable hair. I was only able to take away one of the dolls without her screaming! Plan A down, the drain, it was time for Plan B...a quick take-away at the cash register. That didn't work either. *Sigh* At least this doll is able to get wet, so she can have it be her tub baby. :)

Anyway. Back home, Alegria would not let go of her new baby doll:

I made a pizza pasta casserole dish, got Alegria's diaper bag ready, got myself ready, and then we finally headed out the door.

The original plan was for me to meet Kerri at her place and then we'd go to BLORA together. However; on my way to Fort Hood, Cameron called to ask us to come pick him up. So I called Kerri and we decided that we'd go separately after all and once there, when it got too late for the babies, we'd decide on rides (the men had to stay late for clean-up duty afterwards).

We had a nice time at the Hail/Farewell. We sat with the Abbatacolas and enjoyed watching Alegria and Quinn be their cute selves.

Here's Quinn "drinking" out of a cup:

Alegria and Daddy:

Alegria doesn't like sitting still for long, so at times, Cameron or I would walk with her towards the back of the room and let her run around and play:

Playing with one of Quinn's toys:

After all of the formalities were over, it was announced that we had the room until 11pm and that if need be, they could extend the time on that so that people could stay longer. I was praying inwardly that people would decide that it would be more fun to be elsewhere on a Friday night so that Cameron could be done earlier with his duties so we could all go home together. My prayers were answered and little by little, the room began to clear out.

In the meantime, Alegria sang a few tunes:

Such emotion in her singing!

Daddy sweeping the floor:

Alegria and Quinn sitting together:

Thank goodness, the clean-up was done in record time and we were able to leave by 9:30 with Daddy in tow. :)

Since it was past Alegria's bed time, I was sure she'd fall asleep in the car on the way home...I was sorely mistaken, though!

Here she is playing peek-a-boo with her blanket:

BLORA is kind of far from where we live and we still had to take Daddy back to Post for him to pick up his truck...needless to say, Alegria had had enough of her car seat and tried to get herself OUT:

It didn't work. Again, on our way home from Fort Hood after dropping off Daddy, I thought that for sure Alegria would fall asleep on the way home. I was wrong again. She was awake the whole time...even though I had "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" playing on the radio the whole time!

At a red light, I got a picture of her playing with her new baby doll. I have no idea why she prefers to have her baby doll naked. Oh well! :)

What a late night! I finally got Alegria into bed at 10:30. The poor child was exhausted and she went right to sleep as soon as she went down.

Now it's time for Cameron and me to go to bed.

Good night! :)

Thanks for visiting...come back soon for updates!
