She Makes Her Laugh!

Today was overall a nice day.

We got up and while the girls played, I watered the front lawn. It would be awesome if the lawn were nice and green by the time Cameron comes home!

It took me longer to water the yard than I thought, so we got a late start leaving home to go to Walmart. I was very happy, though, that the girls behaved really well while I came in and out of the house every 15 minutes to water!  (We only have one water hose and one sprinkler, so I had to move it around the yard all morning long to get the whole lawn watered!)

Once at Walmart, the girls also behaved really well. Cameron and I are truly blessed to have such little angels!!!

Alegria got some new earrings today!

Back home, we Skyped with Daddy! Cameron and I had decided that in order to save money, he wouldn't get internet in his room (CHU), but that he would just go to the computer lab to check his email and that our daily communication would be by phone.  Well, they finally got some cameras and headphones for the soldiers at the computer lab, so we got to actually see Daddy when we talked to him today!!!  The girls and I really enjoyed it!!! Alegria was so happy to have talked to and seen her Daddy!!! :)

After talking to Cameron, Odette went to bed pretty easily. Since it was so late, I decided to keep Alegria up. She didn't mind...of course! I felt bad a little later, though, because she was extremely sleepy and almost fell asleep a few times just playing! I was hoping that meant she'd go to bed easily tonight!

When Odette woke up, we played some more. Alegria, though, had spilled some baby cereal puffs on the floor in the living room...actually, it wasn't like she spilled it...there was a huge pile of it in the living room! Almost the whole container was empty! Maybe it DID spill on accident, I don't know, but it looked like it had been done on purpose!  I asked her to please pick it up and she started to, but then she wouldn't finish! It was annoying! I had vacuumed the whole house yesterday! Eventually, after hours of me telling her over and over again to get it picked up, and finally after one hand smack and then one bum smack, she finally picked it all up and I was able to vacuum up the dusty debris left behind. At one point she'd asked me to help her, but I told her that if she made the mess, she had to clean it up. It would have been much faster if I'd helped her, but it was the principle I was trying to teach her...first and foremost that we don't throw food on the ground, second of all, that when we make a mess, we clean it up.

Anyway. In between times of her picking it up and not picking it up, she would get distracted and do other things...one of the times I heard Odette being really loud and at first it sounded like she was crying...but then I realized it was her laughing!!! Alegria had gotten distracted and was making Odette laugh...SO CUTE!!!  It's so hard to stay mad at her when she does sweet things like this!

Finally it was bedtime for Odette. She went to sleep pretty well at 7:35...or so I thought. After ten minutes, she was awake again and crying. I tried letting her cry it out, but that wasn't working, so I had to go back in there to nurse her again. I think sometimes she falls asleep before she's had her fill and then wakes up after I put her down and realizes she's still hungry! She was finally asleep at 8:30.

Then Alegria and I chilled. As we were just chillin', Alegria out of the blue came to me and said, "Mommy! I love you!" and gave me a big hug! It was so sweet! I felt bad that I had had to spank her twice today, and that just melted my heart and I felt bad. At least I know that having to be a disciplinarian isn't going to make her not love me, though!!!

On our way to bed, Alegria was carrying her animals in her little horse bag on her shoulder. It was too cute, but I didn't get my camera fast enough to capture a picture of it on her shoulder. However, you can tell in this picture how much of an afro her curly hair is!!! Hahaha!!! :)

Putting her pajamas on all by herself:

Well, it was warm in the house tonight, so I decided to turn the ceiling fan on in Alegria's room...big mistake! At about 1:30 in the morning, she woke up. I think what woke her up was that she was trying to breathe through her nose...but the wind from the fan had clogged up her nose and she wasn't breathing very well and woke up trying to breathe through her nose and not being able to! She ended up having to breathe through her mouth! So I turned the fan off and rubbed some Vicks on her chest and back. I hope the stuffy nose goes away! I'm pretty sure the fan did it because she was fine all the way before then!!!

Odette woke up a about 2, while I was still in there with Alegria, making sure the Vicks was working its magic and helping her sleep...which it was. :)

So I then went to nurse Odette...and now I'm here.

Yeah...it's late.  I know.  I fell asleep in bed with Alegria and didn't wake up until the stuffy nose incident. I had turned my alarm on so that I'd leave her room at 10:30, I even laid my phone on my chest...so I don't know why the vibrations didn't wake me up! They usually wake me up when I have my phone in my hand, so I figured my chest would be more sensitive to the vibrations...but I guess not!

Anyway. I'm thinking of going to go do my workout now and then heading to bed.

Ciao!

Super Babies!!!

This morning we went to the library for story time and had a great time, as usual, especially since Daddy called while we were there!

After the library, we came home and Odette was in such a good mood and looked so cute, I decided to get a few pictures with her:

Next we had some lunch. While Alegria finished eating, I nursed Odette. Odette was down for a nap at 1. Then I came out to get Alegria, cleaned her up, and she was in bed by 1:05...though I could still hear her at about 1:12!  She was quiet after that, though, so I was sure she was asleep.  :)

I ran for an hour on my elliptical while the girls napped.

Then I went to wake Alegria up. She didn't want to wake up...but she was in a much better mood when I started tickling her and talking to her to wake her up...smiling and laughing along with me...! It was a nice change!

Finally, she completely "woke" up, but she didn't want to go outside like I wanted us to...she wanted to sit on the potty. So we went to the bathroom and she sat and we read her potty book a few times and she got stickers. Then Odette woke up.

We got Odette and then I nursed her and then I tried folding laundry while the girls played...I didn't get much done. Oh well!

Then I dozed a little on the floor next to Odette after playing with her for a little bit.

At dinner, Odette did really well with her carrots! She kept opening her mouth for more, so that was exciting! She ate most of them, too! Alegria, on the other hand, only had a couple of bites of her chicken nuggets and then drank her Pediasure and that was it.

Finally, it was bathtime. The girls had fun taking a bath, as usual! Odette kept leaning over to reach other toys and I had to keep an eye on her that she didn't tip herself and the pink tub over!

Baby piggy toes!

I had fun during their bath, too, putting the first letter of their names on their bellies...they're Super Babies!!! :)

Then the girls enjoyed brushing their teeth and gums, too!  :)

Waiting for Mommy to finish getting Alegria all lotioned up and in her pajamas:

I miscalculated how long it would take me to bathe the girls. I should have started at 6 to be done by 7 so that I could have Odette in bed by 7:30. But she was in bed by 8...which wasn't too bad, I guess!

We got into bed with Alegria by about 8:45, I think it was, but she ended up not falling asleep until about 10. It's better than 11:30 or midnight...but it's still a little late...and this time she really only slept about an hour at naptime, so I don't know how to remedy that...but for now I'll take it.  :)

After I left Alegria's room, I fed Isis and Doralee and then emptied all of the trash cans and took the big garbage can out to the curb.

Then I came to upload pictures and decided to finally send a few emails out that I needed to.

Now I've emailed Cameron his daily email, blogged, and I'm ready to go do a second workout.

G'night!!!  :)

Matching Aprons Are Fun!

Our day went well today.

I got up early and got ready and when the girls woke up, they played in Alegria's room while I put my makeup on.

One ready for Church...two to go!

Then I got the girls ready...first Alegria, and then we went to Odette's room and got her ready for church, too.

Church went well...and we were only 2 minutes late!  We're getting better!  :)

After Church, we came home, I put the girls down for their naps, and Cameron and I chatted online for a good, long while!  FUN!!!  :)

After chatting with Cameron, I was trying to blog, but Miss Odette woke up and she wouldn't go back to sleep. So I brought her in the office with me to try to blog with her on my lap, but that didn't work, either, so I gave up.

We played in Odette's room for a little while...Alegria even joined us when she woke up from her nap and played in there with us, too:

But then Odette got bored and upset. I took a picture of her mad face:

Although a very sweet and happy baby, I DO have to deal with Odette screaming sometimes...not often because like I said, she's a pretty good baby...but sometimes.  :)

So I took her away from her entertainment gym and we played with something else and that made her happy...sort of.  Lol!  :)

Then we went to the kitchen and Alegria and I had a late lunch.

Abilehi and Ryan came over later on in the evening and they made yummy low-fat chili dogs for us for dinner. It was delicious! For dessert, Alegria and I made chocolate no-bake cookies wearing our cute matching aprons that I bought at Ross around Valentine's Day.  Since my kitchen decor is red, they work any time of year!  :)

Alegria did a wonderful job helping me out with the dessert! However, she did PLOP the stick of butter and splashed some milk on the wall behind the counter, lol! The dangers of cooking with a 2-year old! And then when I was already stirring the mixture, Alegria decided to add even more rolled oats to it...so cute! She would take her chair from one side of the counter, pour rolled oats from one of the measuring spoons into the measuring cup, then push her chair back to the stove and pour the oats in!

While we ate, Alegria played (she didn't want the chili dogs...only the hot dog bun, so she was done eating a lot sooner than we were!):

After dinner, I took Odette's weekly picture:

Then I got her ready for bed and nursed her and put her to bed. She was asleep pretty fast, but when I went to lay her down, she woke up. I thought she'd fall asleep on her own and so I thought nothing of it...

Well, then Abilehi and Ryan left and a short while later, Odette started crying. I tried to let her cry it out as I got Alegria ready for bed, but in the end, Odette was still crying, so I let Alegria watch some Tom and Jerry while I nursed Odette again. This time she stayed asleep when I put her down.

Alegria and I were in her bed a little after 9. She played around a little bit after having watched the elephant videos and listened to Daddy's songs and listened to me singing "Baby Mine" to her. She was asleep pretty quick after that, but I dozed off as I was waiting til 9:30 "to be sure" and ended up not feeling my phone vibrate when the alarm went off at 9:30 and stayed there til about 12:30!!! Good thing I fed Isis and the fish and got ready for bed before putting Alegria to bed!!!

Now  I'm done with my blog entry for tonight, so I'm finally headed off to bed.

Good night y'all!!!  :)

Temple Trip

Today we went to San Antonio to the Temple.

The drive there wasn't too bad.  Because I haven't been sleeping much at night, though, and I KNEW I couldn't stay awake at the wheel, I asked if we could go in Abilehi or Ryan's car so that I could sleep in the back with the girls on the way there (The funny thing is, I didn't sleep at all!  I was too busy talking with Abilehi and Ryan!).  I had packed up plenty of toys, snacks, diapers, wipes, and changes of clothes, too.  Odette thought it was a little too crowded for comfort, though...

It was great to finally go to the Temple again. I think the last time I went to a session was with Cameron when I was 7 months pregnant with Odette. I went again to the Temple when Abilehi got married, but I didn't do a session that day, so it had been a while.

Going to the Temple gives me such a feeling of peace!  I think of Cameron and our girls and thank my Heavenly Father for the wonderful life that I have!  He truly is great for having blessed me with so much!

That said, even though I'm at peace at the Temple, I'm still ever the mother and thinking about my children...and every time I go to the Temple, I always remember that I need to buy a watch.  I can't take my cell phone in with me, so I never know if we start on time or not and what time we usually end.  Today, towards the end of the session, I asked a sister next to me what time it was and we had definitely been in there longer than usual.  I was getting concerned about Odette and whether she was still doing well or not...

When I finally got out to my parents and the girls, Odette was doing fine. Mami said she'd fallen asleep for a few minutes, but that she'd gotten woken up when Almalia opened the car door where my mom was dozing with her and yelled to my mom that Alegria had pooped...which my mom says she hadn't, but that had woken Odette up (Alegria must have just tooted!). So I got her and nursed her and she dozed a little, but then Cameron called and she woke up again.  Thankfully, the small doze she took was enough to keep her in a good mood.  :)

We had our traditional "after the Temple" lunch at Whataburger:

And then we left.  Both girls were exhausted and fell asleep in the car:

By the time we got home, Odette was tired of being in the car seat. I'm sure Alegria was, too, but she didn't let on as loudly as Odette did! Lol!

As we were unloading the car, Alegria saw her bike and wanted to ride it, so Ryan pushed her while she rode.

There had been a spill in the back seat, so I cleaned that up while Alegria rode her bike and Abilehi carried Odette. It was finally a beautiful day after the gray morning it had been!

After a while, we came inside.  I showed Abilehi cake pan sizes for her to choose what cake size she wants a cake to be that I'm making for a co-worker's birthday for her, and then I let Odette play with the pans:

Abilehi and Ryan then left to go get some groceries for tomorrow's dinner that they're making for us tomorrow night and then came back and we ordered a movie on DirecTV. We watched "The Switch." It was an ok movie. It didn't make me cry and it didn't make me laugh too much...just a few "aww!"s here and there.  :)

Since Alegria had slept the WHOLE way home, she was up and wired all night.

Playing tea party with Aunt Abilehi:

After Abilehi and Ryan left at about midnight, we brushed Alegria's teeth and got into her bed and she was asleep by about 12:30.

Now I'm done and about to go to bed myself.

Good night everyone!!!  :)

Thanks for visiting...come back soon for updates!
