Chillaxin'

What a lazy day...for me, anyway. Cameron had to go to work and Lorelehi was gone and Abilehi was at work, so Alegria and I just stayed at home and played and watched Baby Signing Time.

I was so tired by the time Daddy came home, though (believe you me...playing with a toddler can be very exhausting!), I just pretty much sat on the couch while Daddy played with Alegria, even though she'd occasionally come up to me and I'd steal hugs and kisses!

I got a little chilly and brought out a knitted blanket that Abuelita (my mother) gave Alegria for Christmas last year. We usually keep it in Alegria's room on her rocking chair to bundle her up with when I rock her and sing to her before sleeping times, but it's so cozy I decided to use it for myself tonight. Alegria decided she wanted in on it, too!

Finally Alegria got bored of just sitting on the couch with Mommy:

Then she wanted to go play in her little entertainment gym. I keep thinking we should put it away since, to me, it seems to "young" for her anymore, but Alegria still loves to play in it, so we keep it out! It grants us some peaceful time when she just lies there and plays the music on it. :)

And that was our day.

Good night!

Horse Races

This morning we got to spend it with Lorelehi. We played outside for a little while. First, in the backyard, and then in the front yard. When we got to the front, Alegria kep wanting to walk over to the neighbor's yard, but because they have an automatic sprinkler system and for some reason they have left it on so far this winter (even though it hasn't helped the lawn at all!), the lawn was wet and we had to keep cutting Alegria off from going over there so that she wouldn't get all wet herself:

Luckily, she got distracted by the window ledge and Lorelehi was able to keep her away from the neighbor's lawn by helping her sit up on it:

Then we went to the grocery store to pick up a few things. Lorelehi helped with Alegria while I went about shopping. What a relief to have someone to watch Alegria while I shop! Usually it takes me so long to get through with the grocery shopping because Alegria needs a snack or she wants to be held or she wants to walk around or when she's down she's pulling stuff off the shelves...you get the picture...! :)

Sadly, Lorelehi eventually had to leave to drive back up to Dallas. :(

Daddy was home early, though, so we got to hang out with him. Alegria showed him her skills at riding:

And then she challenged him to a race!

So cute!!!

Later on, Alegria wanted Daddy to "read" her the new coffee table book we got, so Daddy took her on his lap and showed her the pictures and told her the story of that Christmas Eve in 2004 when he and I were engaged and he was home meeting my family and it snowed...and so he and I ran barefoot in the snow!!! What a crazy bunch of kids we were back then...crazy in love! And now we're just a crazy bunch of parents, still so much more crazy in love!

And finally towards the end of the night, we knew Alegria was tired when she began acting silly as she peered at us from underneath an open door of the entertainment center! Surely, she's delirious! ;)

Now she's off to bed and soon it will be our turn!

Have a wonderful night!!! :)

A New Horse!

Daddy left before we did to go on Post so he could drive to the funeral with the other men in the honor guard.

So Alegria and I went to Church by ourselves. Abilehi wasn't even there to sit with us at Church, since she was sill in Orange Grove with the family. Andrea and Josh said we could have sat with them, but I knew Alegria might get a little fussy and I didn't want to have to restrain her even more in a crowded pew. And it was a good thing, too, because Alegria got really upset at one point and I ended up taking her to the foyer.

Luckily, Church got let out a little early today, so Alegria and I went on our way home, where we both needed naps. :)

Later on in the evening, Alegria and I were just hanging out...and she got really quiet. It wasn't until she came toward me from behind the coffee table that I realized that she had put one of her shoes on all by herself! So I asked her to go get her other shoe and put it on. Unfortunately, she was unable to, though she tried really hard:

She learned she can climb even higher on the couch and reach the window and curtains!

And finally Abilehi and Lorelehi arrived...with gifts in tow!

Nefilinda and Fernando had sent Alegria a cute little rocking horse for Christmas...and she loved it!

She WAS a little taken aback by the music it played, though!

Here she is playing with one of the baseball caps my parents sent to Cameron for Christmas:

Then back to the new horsie that's just her size! Will she be able to climb on while holding Big Bear?

What a wonderful gift! Thank you, Nefilinda and Fernando!!! :)

And thank you to my family for the gifts they sent home with Abilehi and Lorelehi to us...among them being a beautiful coffee table book of the Corpus Christi snowfall of 2004. Cameron and I were engaged that year and happened to be spending Christmas with my family that year in Corpus and got to see and even run through the snow that wonderful Christmas Eve! Ah, the memories!!! :)

Well...after dinner with Abilehi and Lorelehi and hanging out some more, we finally said goodnight to Abilehi, who went home.

And now the house is pretty quiet. Alegria has been asleep for a few hours and Cameron won't get back until tomorrow night. I guess I'd better go to bed...but instead I think I'll go hang out with Lorelehi some more before going to sleep! :)

Oh! And I can't forget...HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMMON!!! We love you!!! :)

Good night!

Wrestle-Mania!

Cameron found out he had a funeral honor guard to participate in (heretofore referred to as "funeral detail), so we headed onto Post for him to pick up the paperwork.

Well, what we thought was going to be just picking up paperwork ended up being fill out paperwork and then pick it up and take it home...

...so Alegria and I just chilled in the car.

Daddy came back to see how we were doing and let us know it was still going to be a while...

...so Alegria and I actually did go outside for a little while...until she decided that not only did she want to pick up rocks, but also cigarette butts, which ended our outside excursion.

She kept crawling from the back to the front then to the back again!

And would eat snacks in between:

Back home, Alegria and Daddy wrestled and rough-housed:

Alegria had worked up such a sweat, she decided she needed to take off her shirt:

She had been successful earlier in taking off her shirt, so I don't know why she was having difficulties this time around!

Anyway.

The rest of the night we just relaxed and Daddy got a cute picture of Alegria wearing her white coat:

And that was our Saturday!

Good night!!! :)

Thanks for visiting...come back soon for updates!
