Halloween 2011

I woke up this morning, got Alegria ready, and then we both went to get Odette...and found her like this:

Needless to say, Odette needed a little help getting unstuck!  Hahaha!

Then we went for our morning walk.  It was a chilly morning, so I was glad I had bundled us all up...however; I think Odette prefers the chill because whenever I try to bundle her up, she fusses...such was the case today, so we only walked one lap around the neighborhood with our friends and then went home.  It was really nice to get back into the routine of walking in the mornings again.  :)

At 10 we went to Chloe's house, where the girls played nicely while Sandy, Beth and I had a nice visit.  After that, we stopped by the Dollar General to pick up a few more bags of candy...we'd run out of most of our stock at Friday's Trunk-or-Treat!

Daddy made a quick appearance at home for lunch and then he went back to work:

Odette was asleep by this time, so Alegria and I went outside and decorated for Halloween:

Finally Daddy was home from work for the day and the pumpkin carving could begin!

Odette was a little curious yet grossed out by the pumpkin innards:

Alegria got to try her hand at carving this year:

I must say, our jack-o-lantern turned out pretty nice...thank you for a job well done, Daddy and Alegria!

Since we were outside, I had Cameron change the lightbulb by the garage door...it had gone out a long time ago and I kept forgetting to replace it...until today!

It was still too early to go trick-or-treating, so Cameron and the girls jumped on the trampoline for a little while:

6 o'clock arrived and we got the girls ready for trick-or-treating:

Even though Cameron didn't dress up for Halloween (I did, though, to hand out candy), Alegria kept saying that "I a witch, Mommy a witch, Odette a cat, Daddy a frog!"  I have no idea why she kept saying that he was a frog, but it was too funny!

Have fun, little ones!

After about an hour of my handing out candy and Cameron and the girls trick-or-treating, they made it back home with their stash of candy and since both girls were still in a good mood from the festivities and not yet tired enough for bed, I made it a photo opportunity!

Then it was time for dinner.  I was pleasantly surprised that even though Daddy said today was the one day that he would let the girls have as much candy as they wanted...they both actually wanted real food and not the candy!  They must have had their fill over the past few days since Friday...

As the girls ate, I reviewed the pictures that I'd just taken and wished I had left my hair up in a ponytail when we took that family picture...I wanted a re-take but I knew the moment had passed, so I settled for a quick picture with everyone one at a time:

Ah...I like myself much better in those last three pictures!  Haha!  :)

Once the girls were in bed, Cameron got the grill ready for his and my dinner (Italian sausages...YUM!) and while he did that, I went to try and get a good picture of the jack-o-lantern all lit up in the dark.  This year we used a strobe light instead of a candle:

I decided a short video would do it better justice:

Then Cameron and I played a game of darts (Cricket, to be exact).  We didn't finish the game before dinner was ready (which is good because I was losing BIG time).  We ate and watched the football game and talked.

*happy sigh*

I love my family.  I love my life.  :)

Happy Halloween to all!!!
