Meet and Greet

Cameron and the girls lounged around in their pajamas in the morning and just played while I got ready to go to a "Meet and Greet" event on post.  It was a "bling" party where you had to come wearing as much bling as you had...but mainly, it was a luncheon made with the purpose in mind to meet the new Squadron Commander's wife, Missie, and the new Squadron S4's wife, Jen, as well.  I didn't take my camera because I knew Kerri would be taking pictures, so the following are stolen from her blog about the event:

Jen is in the brown Cowboy boots and Missie is in the white shirt in the middle:

I won the prize for most bling!  I had diamonds all over my hair, which you can't tell from this picture...I also had a silver purse and silver shoes on as well as tons of silver bracelets and rings on (courtesy of Abilehi!):

The event was fun!  I visited with a lot of wonderful ladies, munched on some very delicious food, and went home with a cute ornament prize:

I had to leave early, though...

When I got home, Cameron pretty much just tagged me in and I tagged him out...and he was on his way to go watch the Longhorns play some other college team whose name I can't remember.  Hook 'Em Horns!!!  :)

In the evening, Abilehi and Sadie came over for a short visit.  As soon as Alegria saw Sadie, she asked her if she could please play a frog game on Sadie's phone.  Sadie was very nice and let her:

Abilehi and Sadie didn't stay very long, though, and Alegria had to give up the phone...so I turned her and Odette's attention to coloring:

As I was getting dinner ready, I ran into Big Bear....I don't know what in the world Alegria was thinking when she did this:

After their bath, Daddy had returned home and we finally got to doing the advent calendar:

And that was our Saturday.

The Longhorns won, by the way!  Woo-hoo!!!  :)

Have a great night everyone!  :)

Work Christmas Party

Our big activity today was the Fox Troop Christmas party.  It was in a crowded little venue.  When we arrived, there were already a lot of people there, so we found a room, left our stuff, and went to grab a bite to eat.  The venue had a big theater room and since the only available seating was in there, we walked in, sat down, and watched the end of the movie "Alpha and Omega" that they were showing for the kids.  Alegria was only interested in eating popcorn and Odette was being a very messy eater and not very interested in actually eating anyway, so Cameron and I quickly finished off our plate of food (we only grabbed one plate to share), then we left.

Since we had just dropped our stuff off when we got there, I didn't even grab my camera and so didn't get any pictures until we were about to leave and were getting the girls into their coats:

Me!

When we got home, the girls were still hungry and asking for something to eat.  As soon as I opened the refrigerator, Odette quickly went and grabbed a yogurt!  I seriously didn't even have the time to blink before I knew she was there!!!

After eating, we all just relaxed and played.  Odette found it very fun to put on Alegria's Crocs...even though she had the one on her foot on the wrong foot and the other on her hand!  I guess that's what made it so fun...for all of us watching her, too!!!  :)

Finally it was time to start our countdown to Christmas on the newly-finished advent calendar!

I think the girls really like this new tradition!!!

The rest of the evening until bedtime was just playtime:

And that was our day!

Good night, y'all!!

Tree Lighting

I still hadn't finished our advent calendar that we were supposed to start counting down to Christmas on today...I had this big idea in my head, but it was bigger than I could have imagined at the start of my project and through trial and error, I kept having to change up a few things.  Oh well!

We went to Hobby Lobby to pick up an item that would hopefully complete my struggle to create the perfect advent calendar and from there headed over to playgroup.  On the way, we saw some contruction and Alegria looked at me and said, "Mommy!  They make a mess!!!"

Yes, honey...they sure did.  :)

At playgroup, Odette found a ride-along toy, but was confused as to why the steering wheel was placed at the back...

Finally I sat Odette down for lunch...she was beginning to get fussy and I knew it was because she was hungry.  You can still see a big tear on her cheek in this picture:

At one point, she noticed one of the babies and signed "baby" to me:

The group (well...the older children anyway!):

Playing:

And no one can say nothing out of the ordinary ever happens at playgroup...we spotted a young buck today!  The children were enthralled!

Even though the advent calendar was not ready, I, being the advent calendar creator, knew that the activity for today was to go watch a tree lighting ceremony...and it just so happens that today was the tree lighting ceremony for the city of Copperas Cove!  How fortuitous!  ;)  Yes, yes...I planned for it!  Haha!

It was our first time ever attending the Cove Tree Lighting Ceremony.  Unfortunately, Cameron had Cub Scouts tonight and Abilehi was still at work, so it was just me and the girls at first.

Wow.  There were a lot of people!

Thank goodness it wasn't too cold.  And even though the girls complained a little about having to stay in the stroller, it was worth it when they got a little treat (there was a choice of either candy canes or cookies...the girls chose cookies) and they also each got a small Holiday Beanie Baby bear!  However; Odette lost hers at some point along the way:

A nice passerby offered to take a picture of us:

We got in line to see Santa.  As you can see, it was extreeeeeeeeeemely long:

Tired and bored, but satisfied after having eaten a granola bar:

When Abilehi got off of work, she came and hung out with us for a little bit.  She stayed in line with Odette while I went to check out the lights with Alegria:

Abilehi finally reminded me that Alegria and Odette would get to see Santa at the next story time, so we got out of line and took a few more pictures:

And that was our first fun-filled day of December!!!

Good night everybody!!!  :)

Thanks for visiting...come back soon for updates!
