Cured...Hopefully!

For breakfast this morning we had bagels and strawberry cream cheese...YUM! Alegria loves taking as much of the cream cheese off first with her finger, which she delicately licks off...and then she bites into her bagel. Very appetizing:

Notice the pinky up in the air? First class!

So...yesterday I went to Verizon in Cove to buy a MiFi for Cameron's loptop for him to use at work. I had called earlier and a gentleman had told me that they had them in stock. I got there and there were none in stock. ARG! So I went to Wal-Mart and they only had the air modem available.

Fast-forward to today...I was supposed to get a call from a lady at the Cove Verizon. I was ABOUT to put Alegria down for her nap when the lady called. I was expecting her to call around 11 (that's when she had estimated the shipment would come in), but I didn't get a call until almost 1.

I decided to go right away. Luckily, the Cove Verizon has a bin of blocks for little kids to play with, so that kept Alegria occupied and happy while I got the MiFi installed on Cameron's laptop and paid for everything:

I was lucky while we were at Verizon, but once we got to FedEx so that I could send off our taxes, Alegria was no longer in a good mood. She kept crying, but I couldn't blame her...she was tired and supposed to be in bed!

Finally, I got it all done and we went home. Poor Alegria was exhausted and went right to sleep!

However, she didn't sleep long, which meant neither did I. When Josh showed up, though, Alegria got in a better mood and they had a fun time! Phew! :)

As soon as Daddy got home (early...it's Thursday, yay!), he went out to see Cyrus. The vet was supposed to meet him at 4 to check Cyrus out. Cameron came back at about 4:30, upset because the vet never showed up. So Cameron called and apparently, it was going to be a different vet than before that would come and the new vet wouldn't be there until 5:30.

Little Josh was long gone by the time Cameron got home. I guess they found out that Cyrus's back teeth had gotten really sharp and were cutting him whenever he ate. That would explain why Cyrus hadn't been eating and had lost so much weight that his ribs were showing! Cameron told me that Cyrus had to be given two doses of the sedative, too. Usually they only give a horse one dose, but Cyrus, even though he's been sick, is still very strong and they needed extra sedatives in order to get him to cooperate. And I guess it took a while for the sedatives to work and then for Cyrus's teeth to get filed down. That's why Cameron got back so late! They also gave Cyrus antibiotics to treat the Strangles. I sure hope he gets better soon! Poor guy has been sick for a month now!

Well...now it's getting late and it's been a long day...

Have a wonderful night!

I Have to Take This Call...

Moment of the Day...Alegria taking a snack and Daddy's cell phone with her into "her" cabinet:

Apparently privacy wants and needs don't always just kick in when kids turn into teenagers...sometimes it's sooner.

Busted!

Today my friend, Andrea, started school again. I offered to watch Josh for her from 4-6 until his dad could come pick him up.

So Josh came at 4 and he and Alegria played. It was all fun, except Alegria for some reason today had two left feet! She kept falling and hurting herself! At one point, she was playing in her favorite cabinet in the kitchen and then came running out of it and slipped and fell on her knees and braced her arms, but her head kept going...and BANG! She hit her lip on the floor! Poor thing now has a big lip! Thank goodness she didn't hurt any of her teeth! Apparently, I'm going to have to stand right next to her every minute of the day now to try to keep her from doing stuff like that!

Anyway. After Josh left, Alegria and I played with her blocks. I got a few cute pictures:

Alegria is getting so good at stacking blocks! What a genius! :)

Busted lip close-up:

I originally had an Army Wife Coffee to go to tonight, but Cameron called earlier to say he had to go shoot at 6 today. Since the Coffee was at 6:30 in Georgetown, I let the hostess know that I would be unable to attend. :(

Daddy finally came home and, boy, were we happy to see him!

Now it's off to bed...good night!

I Forgot

We went to Story Time and had a fun time. Then we went to Little Josh's house and played. After a nap, we went to the grocery store.

I don't know why, but Alegria LOVES to hold on to the bagels. The bad part is, though, she doesn't just hold on to them, she bites them! I tried as much as I could to hide them from her in the grocery cart, but as I was putting the groceries in the trunk, she saw them, wanted them, and wouldn't let go of them:

Alegria: "Mother, you forgot to peel off this coupon and give it to the cashier!" I hate it when I forget to use coupons! ARG!

Back home, she still wouldn't let go!

Tonight Daddy has staff duty. We weren't going to see him until tomorrow night, but luckily he needed to pick something up from home and so he was able to come home for dinner. It was nice to see him, if even for an hour! We love Daddy very much!!!

In Style

I remember doing this when I was little...don't you? (Do not attempt this stunt at home when your age is higher than your shoe size!)

Then, being the little stripper she is, Alegria asked to get her clothes off (some clothes she still can't take off on her own)...and then walked around in only a diaper and some of my jewelry:

There's nothing like a nice, relaxing Sunday at home with our stylin' little girl!

My Precious...!

We had a schedule to keep...but we ended up leaving later than expected. We wanted to be driving by 6:30, but we didn't leave until about 6:40. No biggie.

Alegria was in a fine mood as we traveled. She didn't go back to sleep even though we'd woken her up at 6:15.

However; when Abilehi busted out her makeup bag to put her makeup on, that's when Alegria decided she needed makeup on too, to cover the bags under her eyes, and she got upset when Abilehi wouldn't share. She cried and screamed until Abilehi let up and gave her the only thing that Alegria couldn't break, her eyelash curler. Finally some peace and quiet!

Then the commotion started again when Abilehi decided to put her jewelry on...you guessed it. Alegria wanted it:

Who do you think won?

Right-o! Alegria. :) Abilehi gave in and gave her the matching bracelet. :) Finally, peace and quiet!

Cameron and I got there in time to say hello to my family and then leave Alegria with them and head in to the San Antonio Temple.

We had a wonderful time. It had been a while since we'd been to the Temple and we were very happy to have been able to go.

Afterwards, we came out and enjoyed the sunshine for a little while as Alegria kept playing:

Alegria and me in front of the Temple:

Alegria and Daddy by a pool in front of the Temple:

We were all very hungry, so we finally decided to leave and go to Whataburger for lunch.

Alegria played on the benches while we waited for our order to be brought out to us:

Daddy giving Alegria a balloon:

After we said our goodbyes to my family (thank you for playing with Alegria while we were in the session!), we went to see our friends, the Caldrons. We stayed and visited with them for a little while.

Then as we were leaving, Alegria got to pet one of their puppies:

Most of the Caldron family...Troy, Tory, Jessica, and Dallin:

By the time we left, it was about 2:30. Alegria was so exhausted that she fell asleep in the middle of eating her burger! (She was too busy playing with the balloon at the restaurant to eat her food.)

Abilehi noticed that Alegria had fallen asleep in the middle of chewing! She still had a piece of meat in her mouth!

So Abilehi tried to take the meat out:

Alegria must have swallowed the meat during the "struggle:"

Back home, since she'd already slept a little, Alegria was ready to go about her business of playing. Here she was trying to put on any and all articles of clothing:

Also, recently Alegria loves to have her shirt off. So here she is walking around with no shirt...when she found a small lotion bottle that she'd been playing with before. I want to say that the reason she has it under her arm is that we put her thermometer under her arm to take her temperature and so she decided that under her arm was the best place for this lotion. Silly, I know!

That's all folks! It was a long day and now we're off to bed.

Sleep well! :)

Please Help!

This morning Alegria found a tape dispenser in the desk drawer...and tied the tape around her wrist!

And if that wasn't enough mischief, check this out!

On a more low-key level, Alegria then inspected a vase and flowers:

She loved the heart decoration in the vase and decided to keep it for herself:

What long eyelashes!

Later on, she used her walker to climb up onto a side table in our living room. She loved looking at pictures of family on that table and would even point to Daddy, Mommy, Grandma, and Grandpa!

Pointing to Mommy:

Signing "Mommy:"

Pointing to Grandpa:

She actually learned how to sign "Mommy" and "Daddy" very recently. Now we're working on signing "Grandma" and "Grandpa" but she still doesn't have those two down yet...maybe because they're too similar to "Mommy" and "Daddy." It took her a while to make "more" and "cracker" distinctly different signs, so we'll see how long "Grandma" and "Grandpa" take!

I tried video-taping Alegria signing "Mommy" and "Daddy," but she got distracted with the chess set and preferred to climb on the table and play with the chess pieces:

A little before 7, Abilehi showed up. We had asked her if she could please watch Alegria while Cameron and I went out to dinner and she had very nicely agreed, so Cameron and I headed out and left her having a rotini dinner with Alegria.

Cameron and I went to an Italian restaurant in town called Bella Sera. It's a very nice restaurant, and let me tell you, the service there was a lot faster than the KFC fast food we got last night! The waitress was very nice and we had our food in a flash...and it was SOOO good! The servings were very large! I had to box up most of my chicken parmesan and Cameron had to get a to-go box, too.

Well, we had left home at about 7:10...and we were done with dinner by about 7:45! Since it was still early, Cameron and I headed to the Copperas Cove Mall (Wal-Mart) to buy some lamps for our nightstands. Then we headed home.

We called ahead and asked Abilehi to please keep Alegria up so that Daddy could put her to bed. When we got home, Alegria was all bathed and ready for bed.

Once Alegria was in bed, Abilehi, Cameron and I worked together to move our king size bed so that Cameron could reach the outlet behind our bed to plug the new lamps in.

There was an incident and a floating head was what was left:

Just kidding! No incident! Just a floating head! :)

And that was our night. It was so great to go on a dinner date with Cameron! How awesome to have Abilehi living nearby to help us out with Alegria like that! Thanks again, Abilehi!!! :)

And good night to all! :)

Thanks for visiting...come back soon for updates!
