Such Sweet Sisters!

When I was pregnant with Odette and we found out we were having a girl, I hoped that Alegria and she would be the best of friends.  My prayers were answered even sooner than I'd dreamed!

Befriending Isis:

Trying out some winter apparel before storing it all away:

Grocery shopping at our "new" Walmart:

On our way back home, I got better pictures of the signs upon entering Fort Benning...without the rain this time around!  :)

You know you're entering a military post when you see one of these pulling in beside you!

Once home, Odette was excited to "install" her new little throw rug at the foot of her bed...kneeling for personal prayers will never be the same again!

Sleep well everyone!  :)

Low-Key Day

It was a pretty low-key day today.  I wasn't feeling all that well...my allergies are really bothering me.  :(

However; I did empty a few boxes and the girls and I played.

AND I went to a Captain's Career Course Spouse's Orientation.  The men were let out of work early so that they could watch the kids (if they had any) and so that their spouses could go to this orientation.  It wasn't too bad.  I met two ladies, Amy and Cheryl.  They were both nice. And I met Cameron's Team Leader...his instructor for the course he's taking.  There was a lot of talking and information-giving.  When it was all done, I came back home.  I was glad that I went even though I was sneezing and blowing my nose a large part of the time.  :)

So far, the playroom has proved to be a great idea!  The girls sure love spending time in there and it keeps the rest of the house virtually toy-free!  :)

Good night!  :)

Our Fence is Up!

Marty, the Fence Guy, showed up today and installed our fence rather quickly.  I am so glad to now be able to let Isis out to do her business without having to leash her up and stay out there with her until she decides to go!

Odette, on the other hand, was not as happy.  She immediately tried to escape:

She finally realized that her escape attempts were futile and left the fence in peace:

We all came back inside and Odette read to Isis and Alegria while Alegria petted Isis:

The girls' imaginations running wild:

Playing in the playroom:

Daddy got home and had some fun jumping on the trampoline with the girls:

Odette made another run for it...

...but could not resist Alegria's pleas to stay with her.  Awww!  Gotta love sisterly hugs!

After a yummy dinner of shishkabobs, we walked over to a nearby park to play (I wish the pictures of Odette going down the slide hadn't come out blurry!  Her expression is priceless!):

Back home the girls still hadn't depleted all of their energy, so we stayed outside some more to get them tired and ready for bed.  Odette stole Daddy's sunglasses while he jumped on the trampoline with Alegria:

Tickle torture time!!!

What a fun day!!!  :)

Budding Artist

Odette and her beautiful smile:

Getting comfy to color:

When Alegria asked me if I would draw "a big, strong elephant" for her, I instead asked if she would draw one for me.  She complied and did an excellent job!  Her mommy and baby elephant...drawn all by herself!

We're also working on teaching her how to write her name:

She gets better every day!  :)

Meal time struggles are very new, very real, and very frequent at our house these days...mostly with Alegria.  She was a little skeptical about the honeydew, but thankfully in the end, she liked it and ate quite a bit.  Let's hope she keeps it up.  :)

I have nothing else to blog about today.

Good night!  :)

Veterinarian Visit

Now that we're living on post, there are regulations that we just can't sidestep...one of those regulations being in regards to Isis.  In the past, Cameron has always vaccinated Isis on his own, but we never kept records of the shots he gave her, so we had to take Isis in to get her registered and for a whole set of everything.

Alegria was very concerned and upset that the veterinarian was hurting Isis...you can just see it in her eyes:

Isis did pretty well:

We even got her microchipped.  She DID jump off the examination table once, though...

...and in two weeks she needs to come in again for her boosters.  Poor puppy!

But, I'm happy to say that Isis is healthy and in tip-top shape...and that's always good news.  :)

G'night!  :)

Thanks for visiting...come back soon for updates!
