We were so excited to get up this morning! We knew the girls were anticipating Easter and so as soon as they woke up, Daddy had them come into our bedroom and lay in bed with me while he set everything up.
Once everything was ready and he gave the girls the green light, they were off to the playroom to see what the Easter Bunny had brought them!
The Easter Bunny brought them baskets full of yummy goodies, as well as an awesome foam alphabet mat for their playroom!
Then it was time for the Easter Egg Hunt! Daddy had made the hunt as easy as possible for both girls to find the eggs...but after finding only one egg, Odette was not very much interested in finding more...which was fine with Alegria! She filled her basket up with all of the rest of the eggs and was a very happy camper!!!
So we all went back to the playroom to count eggs and divide them up amongst the girls...as well as to eat some Easter candy!
Next we had breakfast and I had the girls notice a new friend that had shown up overnight on the Easter Egg Tree: a butterfly. I explained the symbolism of the butterfly to the girls and we read the verse on the slip of paper that was also now on the tree, John 11:25, which read, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." We spoke of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and of the true meaning of Easter.
Then, after breakfast and while I got ready, Cameron and the girls watched a video on the internet of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ:
Finally we got the girls into their Easter dresses that their Great Aunt Marina sent them:
We went to church and then came home. For Easter dinner, we had a simple meal of spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread and then some Easter candy for dessert. No biggie. But everyone ate their dinner and that's what was important!
We hope you all had a wonderful Easter...we sure did!
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!
And good night. :)
