Uneventful Sunday

Before her nap, Alegria shared a salad with Daddy:

Then they shared hugs and kisses!

When Daddy went to get Alegria up, she was still sound asleep!

As we were heading out the door, Alegria saw a red purse of mine and wanted to put Big Bear in it and take it with her...so she did:

And on the way home, she decided to wear it as a hat!

And that was pretty much our Sunday!

Have a great night!

Giddyup!

Oh, how we love Saturdays! Daddy gets to stay home and we have so much fun playing outside!

As we were outside, Alegria decided that she wanted to ride Isis like her rocking horse:

She even tried pulling Isis's ears like she does to her rocking horse so that her horse will play music! Sorry, Munchkin, Isis won't play music for you! :)

What will happen if Daddy calls Isis to him...?

Alegria still loves Isis, though, even if Isis won't let her ride on her back like a horse!

Isis might not do what you want her to do, but Daddy will!

Nap time finally came:

While Alegria slept, I left Daddy in charge and then I headed out to Kerri's house. We went to Harker Heights to our Sabre Squadron Coffee for the month...an ice cream social!

We had a great time at our Coffee! Not only was there a lot to munch and snack on, but we also made a craft (a St. Patrick's Day pin) and we played games! Then we sat around and visited and just enjoyed being amongst other Army wives.

Cameron texted me at about 3 to see if I was on my way home, but we weren't done yet having fun!

Kerri, Lauren, Tracy and I were the last to leave. :)

Once home, Alegria was awake and we hung out for just a little bit before leaving again.

This time as a family, we all went back on Post to Gary and Lauren's place for dinner. Justin, Kerri, and Quinn were already there.

We played and talked and Alegria got acquainted with Teddy, Gary and Lauren's dog. It was so funny because Alegria was playing more with Teddy's dog toys than with her own that we'd brought with us...and then she decided she was going to walk on all fours like Teddy, too! :)

We all finally got hungry and sat down to dinner. Gary and Lauren spoiled us and had gone to Buffalo Wild Wings and gotten a ton of wings and potato wedges for us to eat! YUMMY!!! Daddy tried to get Alegria to try a wing, but she wasn't biting. So I made her some microwaveable rotini and broccoli which she happily ate while she sat in Quinn's high chair:

After Alegria finished eating, she kindly got out of Quinn's chair so that he could have a meal. When he was done, he gave his mommy a high-five for the wonderful meal she'd fed him of oatmeal and carrots, I think it was! What a cutie! :)

Finally worn out, we decided to head on home. On the way, Alegria had me wrap Big Bear in her blanket so that she could rock him to sleep:

It was a Saturday full of good friends, good food, and good fun! Hope yours was good, too!

Good night!

Quinn's Visit

Kerri and Justin were scheduled to have a lunch date with Mrs. Petraeus, the wife of General Petraeus, so Alegria and I watched Quinn while they attended.

Alegria enjoyed testing out Quinn's high chair:

And Quinn tested out Alegria's walker!

After a diaper change, Quinn was in good spirits and ready to plaaaaay baaaaall!

Alegria decided she wanted to put her finger in Quinn's mouth. I was going to stop her, but then I decided to let her learn on her own... She soon realized that his teeth are not just cute and they're not just for decoration! That's right! He bit down and that was the last time she tried that! He didn't bite hard enough for her to cry...she just made a surprised face and then quickly took her finger out of his mouth! Lesson learned!

Quinn is so close to crawling!!!

Soon he'll be getting around all by himself and getting into mischief at home!

Kerri and Justin got back much sooner than I thought they would. It turns out that the event that they went to was not a lunch after all, so it was done before noon.

In any case, Alegria and I had a lot of fun with Quinn while he hung out with us today! What a cute little boy he is!!! :)

Hood Howdy and Change of Command

We went to Quinn's house this morning and then walked (with the babies in their strollers) to the Hood Howdy. The Hood Howdy, for those who don't know, is a sort of career fair/job exposition type event. Lots of organizations/companies set up tables with things to give away and either try to recruit people to work for them (people can hand out resumes) or try to sell their product. The best part was getting all of the free stuff! Amongst other things, we received a beautiful illustrated children's Bible. SCORE! :)

We ended up only staying for about 45 minutes before Kerri and I had to pack the kids back up and into Kerri's car to go attend the Change of Command Ceremony. Luckily, we showed up just in time...one minute before the ceremony started!

The ceremony didn't last too long, but for Alegria it seemed like an eternity...for me as well, since I had to keep her entertained and quiet! I wasn't able to pay attention to much of what was going on because I was either reading to Alegria or searching in her diaper bag to try to get her attention on anything that would keep her quiet!

At the point when the new Commanding Officer (CO) was officially given the reigns of Fox Troop, the Lieutenants switched positions with their sergeants to stand at the head of their platoons. Here is Cameron in front of his platoon, First Platoon (also known as Red Platoon). I wish I had gotten a better picture, but without the flash, it came out very blurry...better dark than blurry, I say!

The end of the ceremony finally came and we got to say hi to Daddy:

Afterwards, there was a lunch and mingle to get to know the new CO, Captain Menal, and his family. Alegria had fun watching the other kids play billiards and even tried to get in on a game!

Since that wasn't working out, she tried to play a game of foosball, but she was a little too short for that, too. That didn't make her happy one bit!

Luckily we got her happy by handing her a billiards ball, though we had to inform her that it wouldn't bounce like her balls at home!

Bored and disappointed with the non-bouncing ball, Alegria decided to round everyone up to discuss why the playroom was not up to her standards and to get things squared away to her specifications and liking:

The real Red 1:

Playing on a swively chair:

Poor Quinn, he was so exhausted from all of the activities we'd been to this morning already and he passed out as Kerri was holding him, not able to stay awake a minute longer during the lunch!

Napping on Quinn's dad's office couch:

When we finally got home, Alegria sure was tired, too. She took a well-deserved nap!

Then, since it was Thursday and an early release from work day, when Daddy got home and once Alegria woke up, we went outside to play with Isis.

While we were playing with Isis, Andrea and Little Josh showed up. Andrea stayed and chatted for a little bit and then headed off to school.

When we finally came inside, Josh found Alegria's baby doll and wanted to play with it:

Here's Cameron shooting off a tiny firecracker that I'd gotten in a bag from the Hood Howdy:

Once Josh left, Alegria was getting a little cranky. She's getting her molars in, so we think she's crabby recently because she's in pain. Luckily, I thought to bring out her raspberry pacifier from the freezer and that soothed her. This pacifier is bumpy, so by chewing on it and from being chilled in the freezer, it really helps ease the pain from teething.

Chewing on her binky and wearing a pretend helmet she got from the Hood Howdy:

Poor baby! I wish I could do more to soothe her! I guess giving her a little baby Tylenol before going to bed might help her sleep without having to worry about her being in pain...

The raspberry must really work because she wouldn't even let go of it while in the tub having her bath!

We gave Alegria the Tylenol before her bath so that it would take effect by the time we put her in bed. Well...it must have worked because she was in a much better mood (she loves her bath anyway, though!), and didn't want to get out!

We finally got her to bed though.

WOW! What a busy yet very fun day! :)

We hope you all sleep well tonight! Good bye!

Amateur Writer/Artist

Alegria LOVES to write!

She even holds the pen so well!

Seeing Alegria's cute little hands at work made me realize I haven't posted pictures of my manicured hands! Cameron gave me a gift certificate for Christmas and now for the second time, I was able to get my nails done! I just love having pretty manicured nails!

Back to Alegria...she's hard at work...

...or hardly working?! ;)

Here are a few of her works of art:

She really enjoyed it when I traced her hands! (No, she doesn't have three hands, she just wanted me to keep tracing, so we traced her right hand twice...in fact, there was another sheet of paper that also had about 3-4 other hand tracings!)

She also would ask me to draw things for her, then add her own touch:

How much do think these masterpieces will sell for...? ;)

Good night!

Thanks for visiting...come back soon for updates!
